Owner/Founder of Sloth Bands LLC.

     Justin Konia’s passion for fitness began at an early age. His dedication to being a part of a team and pushing himself to excel were just a few qualities that were instilled early on in his life due to participating in various sports. Justin developed an eagerness to help people, and pursued his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. After earning his degree from Pacific University, Justin returned home to Hawaii and became a high school counselor. Although he felt gratified helping those he counseled, Justin felt like something was missing.

     Eventually, Justin realized that he could combine both passions of fitness and helping others! He sought out personal training as an opportunity to be able to help individuals attain their goals. Justin became a National Academy of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer and a USA Olympic Weightlifting Level 1 Coach. Justin is also certified in various recovery therapies such as Fascial Stretch Therapy (Level 3), RockBlade/IASTM, RockTape and Rock Pod/Cupping. These certifications, coupled with his extensive training background in MMA, allowed Justin to become a reputable individual within Hawaii’s fitness community.

     In the more recent years, Justin decided to cater his training to women who were looking to build their glutes. He incorporated the use of resistance bands into his training, but saw how many of the products on the market had a few flaws. From training his clients, Justin discovered that there was an inherent need for quality resistance bands that were durable and “not basic.” Deciding on a mascot that represented a majority of his clients was a no-brainer: the sloth. Most of Justin’s clients, although they love their results, definitely would prefer to enjoy having a glass of wine and watching Netflix than working out. This is exactly why “Sloth Bands” came into being; you can still be “fit” by using your band, while still being able to sip your wine and “Netflix and chill.” 

     Since “Sloth Band’s” store launched in August 2019, clients have had the opportunity to purchase various types of booty bands as well as leggings. We are excited to offer more products in the near future!
